If they need to furlough, sadly, it's in there. If the company wants to approach us with an ERP, we will listen. It's not our place to approach them.

I agree with everything you said, except for the last sentence. Of course we could just "sit and wait" for them to approach us but proactive engagement always works better, imo. That's what has been sorely lacking for the last couple years with our MEC.

I agree with you if I am allowed to wordsmith your sentence to..."proactive negotiation works better, imo". I think this MEC has been proactively demanding.....whether it was the contract negotiations or the ERP. They then follow up their rebuffed "demands" with communiques the essence being an emotional " We fought hard for you and the company is stiff arming us".

Nonetheless, you and Gunfighter are onto something. Basically, stop with emotional arguments and weigh each argument based on $$$ and data, you know, like a business.

Been corresponding with some of the local MEC. They say delta is not talking to us very much if at all and they think any early out won’t be that great. A350 here I come. Lol

I wonder if that lack of communication will improve now that this “plan” is being put into motion.

So why wouldn’t Delta put out Early out program first to see how many pilots would take program, then put out displacement bid. If displacement bid comes out first which I guess it will and then they put out the ERP won’t they have to rerun bid

cause they wanna see how many 777 guys will just say screw it and throw in the towel before they have to offer any payout. Strategery.

So let me get this straight...

The company is ignoring DALPA and doing whatever they want (outside of the contract of course) and then they turn around and make the pilots out to be the greedy ones because of their union and because so few took unpaid leaves.

Isn't it about time that all employees come together and take a stand against the corporate spin machine?

I have friends at United and while they aren't able to buy United shirts, volunteer to clean planes for free etc their management has open lines of communication with all their union reps and isn't pitting one group against the other. They're preparing for worst case scenario and the mood may be a bit more somber but i'd rather know than have it sneak up on me at the last second.
