Is this legit from Delta union?

Delta Union email:

ALPA C44:

Any pilot hired after December 1, 2016 should anticipate a bid result of ATL 717 B UNA (unassigned) or NQAT (not qualified, awaiting training). We expect that management will make it official in the next few weeks and announce their intention to furlough as many as 2,500 pilots beginning October 1, 2020. If there is an opportunity to secure a job that will pay your bills for the next 12 to 24 months, we advise you to take it.

Nothing from 44 is legit unless the Phantom says it first.

Yes, I do believe that Council 44, not the Delta MEC, put that out in the last week or so.

Just plain sucks!

poopooplatter 05-23-2020 12:41 PM

Thanks. What is the difference? One official, one not?

Denny Crane 05-23-2020 12:43 PM

The Delta MEC is made up of all the local councils of all the Delta pilot bases. Council 44, albeit the biggest, is only one of those councils.

That particular "update" was sent to the local C44 members.

Denny

Edit: It doesn't really matter to me but are you a pilot? Just curious.

So where is the early out? If coming at all to hopefully help some not leave the property.

Not until at least next week sometime and probably not until something is announced company wide.

Looking at the union emails, it seems like it’ll be underwhelming at best.

I believe it will be something similar to a non contract employee would find more acceptable. Most of us want a bridge to age 65. That number doesn't translate to noncons. They'd take 6 months pay and some benefits. You and I have spent 40 years flying airplanes. Very specific set of skills. Time to punish organized labor.
