There was a Simpsons episode about this, when Homer purposefully makes himself obese so that he can work from home wearing a moo-moo.

funny timing for your post. Just watched this episode last night because I kept quoting it (for example “the fingers you have used to dial are too fat. To order a special dialing wand, mash the keypad three times”) and I wanted my family to know what I was talking about. Classic.

seriously, everyone stop stressing for 22 minutes about furloughs/pandemic/fires, stop scrolling through APC and FB, and watch an episode of the Simpsons, maybe either this obesity one or the monorail episode. If you don’t like Simpsons, watch another show. It’s healthy! Or so I’ve been told. Definitely seems healthier than stressing out 12 hours a day. |

Lisa : [Homer receives an award for using his fat body to block a toxic vent] I think it's ironic that Dad saved the day while a slimmer man would have fallen to his death.
Bart : Yeah, and I think it's ironic that for once, Dad's butt actually prevented the release of toxic gas... Marge : Bart! |
Right up there with Maxwell Klinger (Go Mudhens!) eating copious amounts of sausage to get fat and thus get discharged from the Army. 😊

I had (probably still have) about 5 VHS tapes with back to back Simpson episodes, starting in season one. I would even pause recording during commercials to for more on each tape. I guess I didn’t see streaming in the future.
My kids now watch it. I made them start at the beginning. |

Remember when the Simpsons were just bumper clips on the Tracey Ullman show?
