RDU

Looks like Jet Blue is going to fill the void we have left in RDU with all our route cancelations.

Give it time. It will be back.

Hoping the brand loyal folks come back too. We're running so thin, I'm embarrassed to watch our operation at times. I don't know much about gate agent staffing normalcy, but we sure aren't at it and the last couple I have had a moment to chat with were not happy. Single agents working departures that used to be handled by two agents, late-arriving agents letting crew on to the aircraft late/boarding late, no jet bridge drivers at arrival, a passenger being removed from the wrong aircraft/flight just before pushback, a lap child boarded/taxied that wasn't paid for...so no pax closeout and no takeoff numbers while awaiting a manual override. One agent was asked to come in to work Thanksgiving in LAX since they were short-staffed... but only for 2 hours of work and pay and no incentives (any guesses if she took the offer and drove 2 hours round trip to solve Delta's problems)?

If business comes roaring back, we'll be in a world of hurt (IMHO). I'm thinking we can only handle a slow trickle of business return, and perhaps that's all we'll get.

It’s more for AA than DAL. Same thing happened after 911, B6 took a bunch of routes from AA.

It really suck for my friends in AA that are furloughed, seeing B6 growing at their expense via a Codeshare.

This is the correct answer. B6 is not adding flights in RDU they are replacing American.

Yes, RDU is still very much in the long term plans as a “focus city” as are AUS and BNA.

Is BOS still going to be a base too?

Eventually, Covid stopped some plans, but they will resume I think by 2022.

BOS and a Florida base, we need to have flexibility between corporate and leisure travel.

not sure the assumptions/projections used to make those plans will still be valid in the future. But I know nothing, just fly them A to B.

I was just rephrasing what it was said in a townhall about 2 weeks ago. I know nothing too, it’s just my opinion.

But someone asked about the BoS base and they said those plans are still up, it’s just not the best time right now.
