Isn't Delta mgmt just admitting the seat blocking is a joke since they couldn't fill those seats anyway due to lack of travelers? Now when loads are higher they figure it's ok to spread Covid for a couple of days?

Any “loyalty” we built with the extended seat blocking has vanished.

Now, we are simply behind everyone else in terms of the recovery.

Well, we had a good run. I am glad I was at Delta in the hayday.

Me too.

Richard Anderson made it look easy. The man was a no kidding genius. The best ones make it look easy.

I'll never forget the 2 times I was working and he stuck his head up in the cockpit to chat up the pilots.** Truly brilliant people can talk to the left side of the bell curve types without sounding forced, condescending, or patronizing. Anderson excelled at this.

While he might not have been a "friend" to pilots/FA's/definitely-not-mechanics, he knew how to make an extremely complex and capital intensive business profitable beyond belief.

Can you believe Delta used to be "investment grade"?!?

At this point, I'd be happy for a plodder who just wants profits. Sweet, sweet profit. Share or not, I don't much care.

**(Leslie Neilson routinely sticking his head up in the cockpit of the MD-88 NYC shuttle flights and delivering the line was WAY more fun though)

How are they going to spin reinstating the middle seat restrictions for the next 25 days? Will they come out and admit that it isn’t about safety, but it’s about the dollar bills they are saving in not having to shell out for denied boarding compensation, hotels and meal vouchers?

Nonrevs apparently are disease ridden though,as they weren’t boarded today if flights had open middle seats

Relative to the topic gang, I flew nearly 150 folks from MIA this weekend in a A-320. Felt pretty good, although some pax were quite unhappy with middle seats being filled.

The next new marketing campaign will be 2for1 or 3for2. Buy the middle seat and we will guarantee it will be empty.

Although I pretty much totally agree with Vyperdriver, any idea what’s going on with the middle seat? Are we back to blocking it?
