For the 330, I just used the standard Cotsco Travel Pro bag (the $99 bag). Especially true if you're not a commuter, but luggage just doesn't really get beat up on international categories. It's more than enough for a 3-day trip and adequate for 6 days, especially through AMS where you can drop laundry at the front desk.

What’s the story with ICN and HND right now? No leaving the room still? If so, are there any reports of this changing in the near future?

In ICN you have to stay on hotel grounds. In HND it’s a little better. Says you have to stay in hotel but you can put down going to grocery store or going out for a run/exercise. In ICN you get a stipend from Delta of 60,500 WON and in HND it was 95/98,000 yen (I think) for food. Just charge to your room and it’s accounted for on checkout. That is per day (I think it’s each 24 hour period).
Denny Also thanks for the ride back from ICN Denny! Slept the whole way. |
Paris restaurants are open for outside dining only and the curfew is 9pm now. A lot of the "outside dining" is in a big tent like structure, so not sure how that's better than inside. Lots of open air sidewalk tables also tho.
The Canadian Embassy pub next to hotel has reopened. |

All correct. HND is an order of magnitude better than ICN right now. Just write what you’re going to do on the Covid form and your covered and not locked in a building like a modern day leper. The only counter-point is that there’s a happy hour with unlimited beer included that counts toward your stipend in ICN.:D
Also thanks for the ride back from ICN Denny! Slept the whole way. Anytime...........At least for the next 3 1/2 months!!! :D Denny |

Last month you could walk around but restaurants only open for takeout. Hotel bar closed and room service only. Grocery stores open.
Denny About the same then only the bar is closed. |
I want to revive this thread and get some more tips for managing European layovers. I finally have my first TOE scheduled for next week with 48 hours in AMS. From reading back through this tread I see 2 schools of thought, 3-4 hour nap once you get to the hotel or just hit the ground running and wait to sleep that night. What’s everyone’s strategy for managing sleep/fatigue and still having time to enjoy the layovers?
