There is a hyperlink in the email…it just looks exactly the same as the rest of the text. I just randomly click on the words “Crew Resources Update” on the email and eventually it opens up…

Sounds like a July FO AE to spread newhire positions onto more narrowbody fleets (read: reduce the burden on the ER training pipeline). They'll need a lot of positions to support the hiring numbers they're looking at going forward. Once they build up an FO surplus, there'll be a Q4 AE that has narrowbody captain positions. That AE might see some very junior captains.

That will likely keep some people parked in the widebody FO categories. I figure between all the new captains as well as people who slid into widebody FO spots on the April AE, that a Q4 captain bid could have some pretty junior captains, maybe even some who aren't on property yet. Of course, it would depend on what positions were actually available. If there's any truth to the MAX rumor and they post an AE with a bunch of 73N positions in NYC, ATL, SEA, and LAX, I think some of those would go very junior. Conversely, if it's heavy on the bus with a bunch of MSP and ATL positions, it probably wouldn't go anywhere near as junior. Either way, someone hired this summer is looking at having ~2000 pilots under them by their 1 year anniversary. Crazy times.

Logistical question about bidding AEs, how does the % qualifier deal with unbid positions?
EG on the April AE: NYC7ER had 188 unbid positions after the award was processed. If all those positions were filled by new hires the category will have about 400 pilots total. if someone at the bottom of the list had bid NYC7ER at 70% or less would they have gotten it(~220 out of 400)? Or would the computer only see current pilots and passed them (220 out of 220)
