And when it comes to security (hacking and viruses) they are. But what do you do when you want to do something that only a PC can do? Don’t you have to reboot it to start using parallels? I have a VPS for my trading systems and can’t access it on my IPad. I might be able to on an actual Mac laptop or desktop…I don’t know, but when we had the surface, I was able to check things when I didn’t want to get my laptop out.
FWIW, you don't have to reboot with Parallels - that's 'boot camp'. You run Parallels (and therefore Windows), just like any other app. In "Coherence mode", your Windows program will look and act just like any other Mac app, complete with Icon. It's totally seamless, I run Quicken for PC on my Mac (because the Mac version sucks) via Parallels, and you would never know it's not a Mac app (other than it takes longer to load the program initially since it's loading Parallels and booting Windows.). It's the only PC program I have used in a decade. Having said that, my current MacBook is maxed out on 16GB of Ram.
