Also, there is no trigger at UPS.

Apparently, a lot of senior guys drop their lines and just hunt Premium

There is no trip dropping at UPS…you either conflict bid or someone else needs to fly your trip.

Ok....let's say the pay rate is $190. Let's say 65 hours for the trigger at 100% pay + 4 day GS so 42 extra hours...20,330. thats the equivalent to 71 hours @ 150% and 53.5 hours @ 200% which united has been offering (no idea what they are offering at jetblue).

It’s quite obvious after reading through this thread. Every airline has much better policies except for the airline you work for. If you work at XYZ airline every other airline has better work/pay rules then XYZ airline - this goes for all Pilots at all airlines.

Most airlines have a few industry leading PWA items - No airline leads in all or even most items. There are a few leaders who seem to overall have a better PWA - FDX and UPS come to mind but I have buddies there and they point out items that they are envious of. While I like some UAL and AAL items I would not trade our contract for theirs.

When comparing PWAs you must view the PWA as a whole - Cherry picking various items from various airlines is pretty much worthless.

With that said I think The Delta Pilots are slowly seeing our PWA losing a lot of ground against our peers and even some LCCs. This is good news for the Delta Pilots as applications numbers on file decrease, and more and more Pilots rate Delta lower as their airline of choice. For years we have been negotiating against ourselves - it will be nice to negotiate with a lot of the industry exceeding us in various sections.

Offering? As in a temporary fix to solve managements problems or is it a permanent contractual item? It make a huge difference as you know.

I think he is mixing things up and talking about the other box hauler FDX. That is what many do currently at purple bc we have drop/swap/trip pickup (by other crew members) and conflicting.

Well said!

Bureau of Labor and Statistics says prices jumped 7.9% YoY. Time for inflation protections in our pay tables. We are losing real money every month -- every day, actually -- this contract goes beyond the amendable date.
