Just trying to see if the forums here agree that is true. Granted I might not even want WB A even if it’s a choice. Just trying to make an informed decision because I’m fortunate enough to have choices.
Recommend taking a look at widgetseniority.com to answer some of your questions. He has a free option for new hires or people looking to work for Delta.

I have a few United by way of Continental buds who live in Morristown, NJ and do the short commute to Newark. Nice walkable downtown area and some nice residential neighborhoods around the edges.

Right, but here you're referring to a different question than you originally asked. ATL WB-A is almost always more senior than WB-A in some other bases, especially NYC but sometimes others as well.

IMO since you mentioned you're early 30's, you very likely will be able to be a WB-A at DL.

I never said it'll be 10 years; I said that at UAL they're awarding new hired wide-body flying while here at Delta it's far less likely. Yes, there was a class with 765 in it, but that's much less likely than at UAL.

How long it takes to hold a wide body is a moving target, obviously.

Can tell you a 2007 (beginning of hiring cycle) hire is barely off reserve ATL 330 FO. Maybe 70%. Why is that in a base with 4500 pilots.

And to clarify this isn't widebody international, if you look at the schedules these pilots will fly terrible domestic trips for the indefinite future.

Just for clarity, I think you made a Typo. A 2000 seniority number would be a mid seniority 7ER A (757/767-300 captain) in ATL. Mid seniority ER B (F/O) is around 9500.
