no, that’s way over complicated for gate agents and everyone involved. You should check the loads and relist like everyone else does
the JS and check in with that PNR. AA shows who’s primary, secondary JSeater are, also who’s a RJ pilot and OAL. I guess you’ve never been in a oversold flight that suddenly every buddy pass made it and you get stuck upfront after working all day. No way to know if if there’s seats until last minute, then if you relist you're going to the back of the list regardless of your seniority date. But I guess you’re in the, “we always done it this way” camp. Another pet peeve is when Jr FAs that are Jseating take the open seat without checking Seniority Date with the front Jumpseaters, just because. |

Our system is way behind the times. It’s bizarre that we still can’t jumpseat on our own metal without standing in line and checking in manually with an agent. |

In reality, the opposite is true. AA pilots who are jumpseating on AA don’t need to check in with an agent, unlike a DL pilot jumpseating on DL. They list as a jumpseat-eligible nonrev and check in online. The gate agent can easily clear them into either a passenger seat or a jumpseat with no further action required on anyone’s part.

And their jumpseat is seniority based, so you still have to play the nonrev guessing game to get to work vs knowing ahead of time you have a seat. I’m not that concerned if a junior guy gets a better seat once in a while.

AA’s jumpseat reservations are first come, first served like ours. You’re probably thinking of UA. I agree that UA’s system is bad in that regard.
