When bidding....what's the shortest time I can be awarded between rotations? Is it 12 hours? If I ask for specific rotations with 10+ hours will it award (as with WS)?

Thanks (I know I'm an idiot)

Thinking of switching to the Delta pilots dental plan. I’m wondering about the 90% coverage on exams/cleanings. Is anyone on this plan? I’m curious what your portion usually ends up costing on a regular exam/cleaning. The coverage on other work looks pretty good.

It was $30 for my last cleaning/exam. That included X-rays, I don't remember if that affects the price I pay.

There’s a buffer. It won’t award 10 hours. I think it’s like 10:30. I’ll see if I can find it.

Edit: I found it in the Alpa PBS reference guide. It’s actually 12 hours free of duty between rotations. I think the 10:30 might be for WS but I could be wrong on that too.

We did it this year and I can't wait to go back to the other plan where cleanings are covered at 100% even if it's more expensive. Last year I looked at all our cleanings and did the math + a buffer and it seemed like it made sense. (I've also been on HSA plans for 10-12 years so I'm fine not being on a PPO plan)

I've had so much trouble with the dentist office screwing it up and overcharging me (my own fault for trusting the price they told me  ). Also, it seems like each visit this year ended up being significantly more expensive than I anticipated based on last year's numbers.

Anyways, YMMV, etc but for me the multiple phone calls and hassle is just not worth it.

Scheduling Alert 19-03, Rotation Award Requirements and Buffers, which is available in Aerodocs, has a nice chart that details what buffers exists, and when they apply.
