Delta can temporarily cut some flights at JFK, LGA, and DCA. Delta asked the FAA to waive min slot requirements because of airport construction, crew sick time, weather, and ATC delays.

These are the former “Delta Shuttle” ops, no?
Never were the same since Delta
A) Gave up the Marine Air Terminal at LGA to SWA and
B) farmed it out to RJs. (Which is likely the real problem…staffing problems at the feeders).
(Yes, I know there were good reasons for both decisions. But man, I really enjoyed the MD 88 operation at the MAT. Bagels, WSJ, decent crew room and a standby aircraft. Awesome FAs + no nonsense passengers too).

JetBlue has the MAT?
Avoiding LGA (and JFK, and definitely EWR) for decades is showing my age/longevity.
It's rose colored glasses, all the way down.
Never did fly the 727. Rumor has it the 727 FO slot was the best gig in aviation. Alas and alack.

True - but the FOs did not have the high honor and privilege of “protecting essential” like those ever vigilant guardians of aviation known as Flight Engineers.

Republic was operating Shuttle flights out of the MAT up until about the time construction started (I want to say 2018ish?). There was a period of gate swapping after that, where JetBlue mainly occupied it for a time while Spirit was straddling terminals for certain rights. Nowadays it's 100% Spirit
