Yes, and then they build new ones.

Everything is possible with infinite money and expertise. But that isn't the world we live in. 3 mile island wouldn't have happened if it were built properly. Nuclear waste wouldn't be leaking into ground water if it were built properly.

Also, you know there aren't many areas left that not near people, right?

Sorry all, I didn't mean to turn this into an environmental argument. I just wanted to share some info to give everyone a chance to find a suitable alternative.

My favorite (so far) is the Thermos Vacuum King 16oz. It fits in the Airbus cup holder, closes securely so it doesn't leak in my bag, and it keeps stuff the right temp (hot or cold) for hours.

Thermos Stainless Vacuum King 16oz.

Any other good options/favorites out there?

I use this one, has worked great for years now and fits in the Airbus cup holder as well.

I’ve had this for years. I’m not sure about the Airbus size though. I’ve lasts days. Make sure to have it open on take off, opening after pressurizing will wake you up more than the caffeine inside.

Owala 24oz

I put ice in it mid day on day 2 of a 3 day. It still had ice 2 days later at home. I stopped using it for coffee because it keeps too hot for my liking but it's amazing for cold drinks on hot summer days. Fits the Airbus and super easy to clean.

Just ordered the 20oz version the other day after a FB discussion on the same topic. So far I love it! Thanks.

Got it.

100% yes. Look back and ask yourself. At the beginning the airlines were all over the news touting heppa filters etc. Why did that narrative go away? Seriously, why?

You mean this type of science? Are you supposing the whole pandemic experience followed science?

but I applaud your knee-jerk whataboutism. Truly excellent nonsense.

Refuting an opinion with “whataboutism” is elementary school level. It means you have no rebuttal.

Ah. So you're saying that things that you put in your trash can don't always end up the dumpster?! Wow. Who knew?

I never made any argument either way. My point is 1.) who knows if this policy will have a positive net benefit and 2.) the airlines standing up to mask mandates way earlier would have resulted in a way bigger impact on the environment. Thus I question how dedicated airlines are to the environment vs how dedicated they are to their image.

It'll have a 100% reduction in benzene ingestion by those who are given those cups with coffee in them. That's a very positive thing.
