PCS drop request question
This is going to sound like a dumb question but I’ve been told there are no dumb questions. When I’m trying to drop a trip through PCS as a personal drop why is it not showing up in open time (as a Q trip or at all?)
Thanks |

Thanks I think, not 100%, that it won't show as a "Q" until a drop has been denied. If this is not correct perhaps someone will correct it. I know what you are thinking, people are so reluctant to tell other people they are wrong on the internet, but hopefully, if it is wrong, some magnanimous soul will dig down and find the strength to point out an error in a fellow Pilot. :D Or in any case provide a better answer. Thanks for the reply and that makes sense, but the request has been in since before the first PCS run and has been processed since the deny reason is, unsurprisingly, capped reserve days.
I put all my trips in November in one request as a personal drop and none of them show up as a Q or anything else. Stumped. |

Are you selecting “Actual and Qualified” when you click on open time?

Did you put them all on the same line? If so, it’s an all nothing. So, it won’t go thru unless they all can be dropped. Same reason it’s not showing up as. Qualified drop. Put them all in seperatly
Live and learn. Thanks. |

Oh snap. That’s probably exactly what happened. They were all on the same grid. It’s weird that they won’t even show up as Q available after not being awarded though.

Live and learn. Thanks. If I see just one of your trips that I want to pick up and submit a white slip for it, and all of your drops are on the same line, then my pickup will be denied if ANY of your other trips can’t be dropped due to staffing. Having them all on the same line tells PCS that you either want to drop all of your trips, or none of them at all. For a rotation to be posted as a Q trip it must be available individually. |
All the above makes sense. I've never tried to PD more than one trip in a month so I wasn't aware of the limitations or options for posting more than one, and the pitfall of all or nothing.
Thanks again to everyone that replied! |
