Default IVD Question

I used 5 IVDs in 2023, twice. 2 before my PVAC, which was 3 weeks. The final 3 PVDs were utilized in the month before my SVAC. All PVDs came off the front end of my 2 SVAC weeks in NOV, so when the month came I had 9 actual SVAC days and the last one was on Thanksgiving Day. Now, looking at my DEC Timecard, I'm showing VAC in/payoff/out at zero, as expected. But at the bottom, I'm showing 2 IVDs available and 1 IV occasion available. 5 days used should leave me with 1 available, I believe. Since I have no remaining current year vacation, these numbers seem meaningless, and even if I had some vacation on the books, didn't I exhaust my IVD alottment be cashing in on 2 occasions? I'm guessing 14.K is in play. Where do I see that tally of sick leave usage in my category? I'd appreciate any attempts to distribute some clarity, especially on the issue of what 2 IVDs available and 1 IV occasion are good for if I have zero vacation time available.

TIA.

All IVD must come from future vacation from the current vacation year. If you have any “instances” remaining, it is irrelevant if you have no vacation from which to pull.

Sick leave contest results were on Deltanet if that helps answer as to why you have one showing.

Thread revive since I couldn't find this.

Can you use a single IVD occasion (2 days) to drop 2 consecutive trips?

I believe you could conceivably use 2 IVDs in a single occasion to drop 3 consecutive trips. One blocks in early day 1, second reports late same day and blocks in early on 2nd day, third reports late on 2nd day.

Yes and no. I believe the length of the combined days of flying has to be less than 4 days if they are multiple trips

23.I.11.e:

1) a single rotation of any length,
2) multiple rotations totaling no more consecutive days than the number of IVDs requested
3) no more consecutive reserve on-call days than the number of IVDs requested, or
4) a combination of rotations and reserve on-call days totaling no more consecutive days than the number of IVDs requested.

If you have two back to back 2-day trips, you could drop both with one IVD occasion, but it would require using 4 IVD days. You can’t use only 2 IVD days and drop both trips by touching only one day of each trip (unless you use more than one IVD occasion).

Am I thinking APDs?

Probably. A single APD request can be used to drop multiple rotations totaling no more than four consecutive days.

Thanks. I was incorrect in what I said above.

But let's say you had 3 back-to-back 2-day trips over a 3-day footprint as I described above (like lean-overs, except with legal rest.). This would only take 3 IVD's and one occasion, yes?
