maybe, but even if she is successful, it will be the tax payers who foot the bill, not law enforcement.

she did exactly what she was supposed to do and he tried to kill her for it.

Rodney Dunn faced no discipline for his actions.

“attempted murder”??? Pretty sure the bumper tap is a taught/approved maneuver. Completely uncalled for in this case it appears, but in no attempted murder.

always is an interesting turn of phrase. But mostly it’s just strange to me how america has such a worse cultural problem with “resisting arrest escalating to violence” than other countries. What is wrong with us?

Show me in either of these video where Daniel Shaver was “resisting arrest escalating to violence“

YGBSM. He intentionally flipped her car over at 60MPH while she was complying. He acted with total disregard for her life and did something that easily could have killed her.

If this was 2 civilians, I bet some prosecutors would absolutely file that charge in an attempt to plea it down to something less trying to be as punitive as possible.

You are correct. It is cultural. The fact that there are so many guns also makes cops understandably trigger-happy.

That was tragic. The cop should be prosectuted.

I disagree. The titanic was tragic because it was a series of mistakes that led to loss of life, but there was no malice. This was not a mistake, those officers clearly operated with malice. It was clear from the first :30 of that video they had every intention of killing him.

I will never understand how, but Brailsford was acquitted. It is my understanding the judge allowed several pieces of evidence to be suppressed (like the fact he had engraved the rifle he used with the phrase “you’re ****ed”). But instead of spending the rest of his life behind bars, The city of Mesa will pay Brailsford for the rest of his life for killing Shaver. After the trial, Brailsford was rehired by the Mesa police department where he subsequently claimed PTSD and was allowed to retire and collect his pension.

It only took 4 months after the trial for Mesa to start paying Brailsford, it took 5 years (after the trail, 7 years after his death) for Shaver’s wife and kids to see any money.
