I'm going to grab a copy of his book. What a spectacular end to a stellar career

I'm not certain, but I think he was either against or neutral on age 67.

He was solid…anyone know which base his frame is at?

Damn, now I've got one more goal for retirement savings.....enough to retire comfortably, with enough left over to do something like this too. 🤪

What an epic way to go out!

What the heck? Isn't telling the sim instructor to lower the sim, "We're done" halfway thru the session isn't good enough anymore? What a show off.......

One of my mentors (different airline) retired recently and I asked him if he's got anything planned for his retirement flight. He told me he wasn't doing anything of that sort and was far more interested in maximizing the enjoyment of his free time and depleting his sick bank before his birthday. I'll admit I'm a sucker for the cool memories and celebrating a successful career, but I've come to really admire the ones who go quietly.

All the power to this guy though, sounds like he made a positive impact on many throughout his career here and went out with a bang.

There's a little bistro in Paris with a fantastic wine cellar. There's a 1984 bottle of Domain Romanee Conti Burgundy that literally has my name on it.

Hopefully my fini trip is a Paris one, think I can swing it, my wife and kids and crew will hopefully enjoy that bottle with me. It will certainly be an emotional time.

I think that will be a fitting end to my years here and I can't think of any other way to "celebrate" that than with my two families. We'll see if I can pull it off when that time comes. This was certainly one cool way of sending yourself off though, not gonna lie!

Your wife is cool with this "other" family? 😀

Edit: I see you mentioned crew....now I get it. One bottle for all those people is a little weak sauce though. Better buy 3 or 4 bottles. You might need a couple green slips between now and then.
