Beltway Bureaucrats can actually get away with non-compliance with such deadlines, in fact they do it all the time.

One of several reasons that I don't like a big government full of unelected petty autocrats who have minimal practical accountability to anyone.

Would be nice if they would be fired or even jailed (similar to to contempt of court) for failing to comply with the law. Yes, minor transgression in this case but it's the principle.

so is your solution to popularly elect a hundred thousand bureaucrats, or to just eliminate them and add their duties to fewer elected officials’ tasks?

The solution is to have the government 1/1,000,000,000,000 the size it is now so that who is in charge doesn't matter.

I don't. From reading his rants, he believes in no government with very very limited exceptions.

No, his solution is to elect a single Autocrat who will summarily fire non-partisan bureaucrats and replace them with 100,000 Executive Branch cronies and yes-men.
