The July 320 newsletter shows 6 NEOs in storage. Only specifies 2 of them as lay flats and are the only 2 without an expect return to service date.

I thought these were the flatbed birds that the FAA hasn't certified the suites for.
*** And on this topic why is taking so long to say yay or nay? I know, I know, the FAA. But still.. The team in charge of aircraft interiors has to be among the most egregiously incompetent at the air line. 777 refurb mess (then the pseudo cargo transformation prior to parking them for good) 764 D1 suites mess 717 new seats not meeting compliance (back to drawing board) A350s without gasper vents A321 CEOs with small overhead bins A321 NEOs with granite seat cushions in FC that are already being replaced/ W&B issues. A321 layflats with a vendor that hasn’t made them before The list goes on and on. I’m sure I’m missing many others. But at least they took the time to put together a shameless dnet article a couple years ago defending how tough their job is. |

Imagine if aircraft seat MFRs had to get their products approved by the FAA and their counterparts around the world before they could be sold to the airlines...

I've used them, they seem pretty comfy. What's the issue?

I'm fairly certain that's a manufacturer issue. It may be an option, but a customer cannot retrofit after delivery as it's fairly deep in the AC and pressurization plumbing.
