Only have 2 days blocked off for DCLC in March. As a commuter, does anyone know if a hotel is provided prior to day 1 with an early report of 0800.

Yes it is.

Has anyone been to this course pre-Covid and have another one scheduled? Not sure what the benefit of this is, the first one was useless. Under the current admin, even more so.

It's required per the FAA as part of pilot development/mentoring/etc. It's a bit more streamlined than the first; similar groups will come in and speak on their subject matter (Inflight, Ops Specs, etc.) It's a mandatory course. I attended one of the first sessions since it's inception. A wide range of seniority from newer CA to very senior CA. You'll get out of it what you put in. I've been here decades and got something out of it. My $.02.

Yeah, I did the new “refresher” DCLR class last year, and I found the IFS 2-hour interactive presentation particularly invaluable.

Is the DCLR a new re-occurring requirement? If so how often?

Just did the DCLC and they said it’ll be every 5 years.

If it’s mandatory, I wonder why they don’t have them every five years during my few decades.

Evolving federal requirements that require leadership and mentorship training, would be my guess. CRM didn't used to be required either.

Yep. It’s a relatively new requirement (which is to say the FAA required ‘something’ with mentorship, and this is Delta’s solution to meet that FAA requirement). Every 5 years now.

Inflight? What did it say? Did it say they were instructed to call the cockpit after every bump and ask how long the terrible turbulence will last? And that they are instructed to never do service for safety reasons?
