Nomatic Backpack
This is probably going to be the priciest option given, but this is a top-notch backpack. Very intelligently designed. The 20L is easy to expand or collapse based on your needs. It also comes with a lifetime warranty so if it ever wears out they’ll just send you a new one.

Thanks for all the ideas!

If you have a Costco membership, check out their Costco Direct Nomatic page. Very big discounts on this exact bag. Highly recommended. Project farm on YouTube did a great backpack comparison and it came out on top.

This is, with the possible exception of the shirt thread, the best APC thread of 2026.
(So far)
The Costco discount? Sublime. (because we're all pilots, and we're cheap AF)
I'm the first in line to say backpacks are right up there with mustaches, gelled hair, and, well, backpacks. But this is a good bag.
Keep up the good work.
