I keep hearing that having one less than 6 months old helps but don't know why since it's legal for 12 months for us youngin's.

My guess would be the application process cannot compare your age to first class medical and determine yours is still good so it's better to just get it every six months until hired. Just a guess on my part.

Yes. Mine was 8 or 9 months old when I got the email to interview.

Gutsy move, Mav! Good on you for pulling it off! :D

Haha. Its now approaching 11 months old :) ... They made no mention of it at the interview, I'm guessing they know I'll obviously be showing up with a new one for class.

What month were you when you got the interview invite?

I'm also curious if the system has some false gateway for month 7-12 medicals. Not only the 12 month window for younger pilots but also the 12 month window for most domestic FO's at any age as well.

Mid march call for originally a june interview (which got moved up to may of course). Medical was over 8 mos old at that point. I also had a fix it email 2 weeks prior to my interview invite, for education and training discrepancy, no mention of the medical being outside of 6 mos old

Current spreadsheet

Here is the latest and greatest on the spreadsheet. Some updates about the number of hires in the months of March through May, but I am still missing a lot of data. I only show 39 OTS left in the pool and maybe 100 flows. Probably 10 - 20 deferments. So call it 150 poolies left. With 100 in July and 50 in August, the pool will be closed.

Anyway, looking forward to starting soon.

Cheers,
Badger

So...the June 16 class has been filled and the next round of calls will be for July classes?

OK, so I'm expecting training in July (I deferred from a Jun offering--you're welcome). Regarding the family travel benefit, I understand we're eligible for that as soon as we enter our family members into the system. My eldest daughter has to be in Frankfurt in September for college in Heidelberg. Is it a pipe dream to think I can use this benefit and get her and possibly my wife there during the required time window, as an FNG at the bottom of the list? Thanks.

ATL-FRA might be optimistic, but you could also use DUS, MUC, BRU, & AMS as back-up options. (Then train to Heidelberg.) All have direct flights out of ATL, except BRU.
