Aircraft preference question:
ASSUMING I have a choice....717, 737NG, or 320 to ATL? I live just under 3 hours from ATL and my priorities are stability and home time vs dollars. How long are guys sitting reserve on the NG & bus before holding a line, and will that time be increased on the NG by the 757 displacements? I don't know much about the 320, but I assume "better" trips vs the 717. I like the idea of BHM overnights in the 717, but it's a pretty substantial pay bump to the other aircraft. I just don't want to sit reserve for a year to get it. I saw part of this question asked earlier, so I apologize for the repeat. In times of great movement (at the bottom) like we are finally seeing, that can sometimes get skewed a bit, but in general, once the dust settles, you will move up faster on the junior equipment, as those above you will move to the higher paying stuff. |
Is within-class seniority always determined high to low (99XX to 00XX), or does it swap to low to high every other class?

The general idea is, if you bid the more junior aircraft (717 in your case) you will move up faster, onto a regular line vs. being stuck on the bottom of a more 'senior' airplane.

The junior guy in the class gets stuck on the 7ER NYC... How times have changed.

Thanks for posting this. I deferred this class, can't decide if it is good or bad that I'd likely have gotten the 7ER to NYC. Question to those who have recently hit the line after getting a NYC 7ER, were you at least able to get to ATL (if you preferred that over NYC) by the time you finished class or were you stuck in NYC?
