but you get to voluntarily verify your sick leave anytime you want under the current PWA, so you can have 100 hours of unverified sick at any time. BIG difference, especially when you have a major illness upfront, but a slight headcold later on that they wont accept verification for.
You gotta pay $200 for some doc to scribble down "Mr. Smith has a cold". |

That's really going to suck for a lot of pilots.

Even if she made fun of me, I'd be enjoying the attention and the moment.

First, let's be clear, it's not a raise.
Profit sharing is intact...today. Extract? The company came to us. They are the ones doing the extracting here...troll. And the extracting... The company would probably disagree that the new pay rates are a hardship for us. I believe they are the highest in the industry, not exactly a hardship on my part if I find myself living under them. I could be wrong, but I believe the hammer swings both ways. Meaning the company likes to play hardball. Look at how the Alaska Airlines' relationship devolved after RA thought they'd crossed him. Seriously, I'm not trying to change anyone's vote here, this is a NO voters platform, for sure. And I do share the angst that the Delta pilot has given up so much and we want it all back. Right Now! Yes, we should get our vacation week back, 5:15 per day for training, full PS, etc. I'm not against any of that. Ya gotta trust me! Or not. I'm seriously not trying to get anyone to change their vote, a lively discussion is always fun. So do we have leverage? I don't think so. What happens to airlines that don't reach a deal. Do they go out of business? Do they go on strike? No! They just continue operating. Under horrible morale conditions. I felt the exact same thing on this contract as I did on the last: Our negotiating committee -for whatever reason- is simply incapable of getting a better deal. It is what it is. And I'm in this for the moola, $250 /hr does not sound bad for a 73N guy. The entire PS sharing argument depends on us turning a profit in 2016. You can't guarantee that. No one can, not even RA. Some on this board have gone, "Hrmmph, you haven't been around this business long, sonny. It's cyclical.". Yes, I know that. Profitable years are rare. Lastly, (for now) two last points: Call me a troll, but I'm actually interested in the no voters dialogue. I haven't come onto this forum with grandiose claims such as saying that everyone I know is voting for this TA. A bunch of people are very upset, and I would say rightly so in some cases, maybe not so much in others. It depends on what YOU value. It will be interesting to see where the vote goes. My straw poll thinks it will be close. We will cross that bridge when we get to it. Hasta La Vista, Woofers |

Crush your enemies. See them driven before you. Hear the lamentations of their women. That is good. Now that's Hasta La Vista. Baby. |
