The CEO is not our friend. His job is to keep our costs down. That is the direct opposite of our goal. We are not on the same team when negotiating a contract. Unfortunately our union does not understand that and gets owned because of it. If our pilot group really feels this was a slap to our face, we would vote it down. If I was CEO, I would come back with a worse offer. That puts all the pressure on us. A strong group would vote down the second offer 100-0 to gain leverage and put it back on him. Our union doesn't think we are a strong group and doesn't trust is to do the right thing. Donatelli said it himself.

So, we talking letter of reprimand or article 15 here?

T,
Aside from airplanes, you haven't actually been in charge of people have you?

No, I haven't. :rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

Let's get straight to it. I double dog dare you to sign your name to a letter like that.

But call it what you will, you do not talk to your employer like that. Standing by for the "But I don't work for Richard Anderson" quips

Bender I agree theres not really a place for unprofessionalism especially when it comes to this sort of thing. But you have your rogue anonymous posters that will come on here and try to cause a scene. This individual may not even be a DAL pilot, who knows.

The bottom line is were here to talk TA, and not engage in hate. I think the discussions thus far have been pretty good right?

Yeah I think so. I just couldn't resist calling him out. It's amazing how much we will say behind the security of "anonymity". Like NewK said to me once," Guys say things they would NEVER say to someone's face."

although the stuff on the Delta Pilots Against Contract 2015 TA FB page is not anonymous and theres some pretty good blows being dealt there. Pretty informative and entertaining at the same time :)

haha id imagine that would be a slightly hostile environment to post in as a supporter (which im not sure that you are or aren't), but theres some pro TA discussion in there nonetheless.

No. Clearly the letter is a vent and a rant. We are dealing with people here. There is emotion involved because we were set up for a big win. Instead, we got a rock.

I don't know what the outcome of the vote will be, but clearly I hope and pray it will be voted down.

There is miscalculation on the part of the company here and significant squandered goodwill. Anger is a natural response. The anger is somewhat misplaced IMO. It should fall squarely at the feet of the people who we pay 1.9% of our income to for representation.

As I've said before this should never have been TA'd. I have contacted everyone with whom I'm connected. Email, linkedin, phone, etc. there is nothing more I can do except vote no.

If it's voted down, we start with a clean slate and do section 6 the way it's supposed to be done. No quick back room Donatelli deals.

I am still in awe at how much we were lied to leading up to this.
