Yep. Management went from co-opting several of DALPA's upper-level bureaucrats, to co-opting just one corruptible Chicago thug. Much cheaper that way.
It has worked on Chicago wannabe big shot politicians before, so why not try it on Donatelli? Look how hard he sold it. Look how desperate he was, look how personally involved he was. He was on the take.
It was an inspired union-busting play. It won't be the last time management tries it. And it won't be the last time DALPA tries to cram it down.

Have to correct this old post of mine. I was going by the DALPA emails that said the $30 million grievance settlement did not alter any contract language. DALPA's latest email now admits the settlement DID alter the language. The grievance language reset the measuring and cure periods. All prior imbalances are now forgiven. Now we have a new 3 year measuring period and 1 year cure period. We've now lost a significant point of leverage in gaining a great new contract. Donatelli just gave it away for $30 million.
