Yet that group took you from chapter 11 back to the top of the industry in a remarkably short time.

Also I say again the big money grab is in the change of stock value in the equities with the proposed change in pretix definition. If I had the exact wording of what the definition is under our current contract and what was proposed I could probably monetize it for this year. I don't think you would like how much less "profit" there would be to split up.
The only public mention I'm aware of is buried in the annual shareholder's report. Stock awards, grants, and options don't necessarily have the same intrinsic value vs book value or accounting value that you allude to and argue hurt us in the calculation.
I'm an ardent supporter of no change in PTIX definition, but I'm lost on where you're coming from in regards to share price and its direct impact to PTIX.

that 'soaring' return was in no small part due to delta shedding with not a fight the pilots pension obligations.
a basic understanding of the impact the absence of paying the ongoing unqualified pension obligations from current year revenues had on profitability would make this obvious.
alpa negligent incompetence and arrogant ignorance plays a pivotal role in the demise and absolute necessity of the trip to bankruptcy reorganization....and you want to sing their praises. what a joke.
delta lost no aircraft on 911. yet this pilot group arguably fared substantially worse in bankruptcy than any other alpa carrier.......and hands down galactically worse than the remaining major pilot group that has for decades been represented by their own association.
please....stop with the jokes....you are killing us.

We lost the way when we elected to turn the no vote into a revolution. We should have done exactly as the vote no crowd stated and rapidly reengage the company. In the end Delta's pilot costs will fall somewhat inline with the industry costs. We will remain at the top but the company is not going to pay a 30% premium. The only path to restoration is to drag everyone else up with us.
Management does not care what they pay us. They only care what their pilot costs are relative to the competition. This TA with some tweaks after the no vote would have set UAL up nicely on their next contract. We would have been exchanging openers on our next contract 30 months from now. With the path we are on now there is a chance we may not even have a new contract at that point. In fact if the wishes of the forum are what shows up in the survey that's more likely then not. Fortunately in talking with several pilots that does not appear to be the case.
In the end I will be very surprised if we do better then the TA and we will have missed a chance to drag the rest of the industry up to set the stage for TA18. My goal is and always has been the most money and best quality of life. We are about to abandon the best producing strategy of the last 10 years to adopt the worst.
