The number of posts WRT to checklists v. Delta buying 49% of ANOTHER airline is running about 10 to 1.
WFT?
If Delta has enough money to buy AeroMexico (after GOL and Virgin), there is money available to "re-juice" our stolen pensions.
If the company wants to reconfigure our profit sharing and put those funds into an enhanced retirement program, I'm all ears. If they want to trade PS for pay rates, it's a non starter.
Putting on a grande sized sombrero on the blow up rat won't fix this.
This is not bueno....

You're right, this should be big news concerning our careers. Sadly, these announcements have become common place. Narita to Tijuana is being flown right now. Our passengers out of Narita will be fed to Mexico and points beyond.
It's evidence that "more money is on the table". If you can invest in your neighbor, you can afford to take care of your own family.
The reason your career is stagnate. Age 65 and no retirements for senior pilots, mostly the dead zoners. ME3 are as bad as all the JV and codeshares.

The biggest issue with this JV is that it will be the first JV that will effect domestic narrowbody categories. It will probably even effect DCI flying. Look at the Aeromexico Connect flights out of Monterrey. How long will it be before all of those go to Aeromexico Connect because DCI is having staffing issues? Our JV scope may protect us on the current balance of flying, but does it protect DCI flying?
I just have a feeling that in 15 years these JV's are going to make the shift in jobs we saw to DCI look like chump change.
