I'm all for restoring our pay to pre 9/11 levels, especially in lieu of mgmt.'s massive increases, but we're in for a war if we expect 30-40% increases above our competitors. Not saying we shouldn't open there and fight like hell for it, but....

Don't believe every number thrown out there on an anonymous web board.

Sounds like a Warren Zevon tune, but what does it mean?

FM...you seem unable to comprehend or accept the vast majority of this group viewed the proposed deal... negotiated on the cusp of a 'downturn'..... was inferior to the deal we presently have.

So why the hurry to once again..... and as before at the urging of alpa operatives....cut our own throats?

Surely you mean inferior to the deal we DESERVE, not the deal we presently have...

The flip side of that, is management will be willing to spend more on longer duration. So it is up to the union negotiators to make an educated guess as to where they believe the industry is headed. If you ask me, I would take longer duration for more pay right now, I'm pretty good at predicting the market. That said, I would wait till the 2016 election is settled, if Bernie gets in, some pilots will see up to a 30% tax increase on take home pay, so that will have to be considered in the negotiation.

You do not believe it is even remotely possible that Bernie will "get in"do you?

Zero chance, Hillary has that locked up, although she should be locked up. On the Republican side, I think you will see Jeb re-enter at the convention if Trump can't get 1237. It is extremely likely there is going to be lots of rioting with this election.

Bwahahahahaha. Bernie lacks a certain "je ne sais qua" that Barack seemed to possess. No way Hillary goes down twice. Not for any man.

At last check I think Bartels is the one who has been collecting FPL longer than anyone on the MEC from both north and south sides. He's had a nonstop FPL position of some sort since June of 2000.

He's always defended the long time experience being required for a base the size of DTW yet he accused vols like Ken Watts when he said that Ken's "MEC office position that he’s held for 10 years or so, he’s been in a very unique position as a pilot to set his own schedule for almost half his career" and "Unfortunately, this latitude, I believe, may have lulled him into “looking the other way” when disdainful things happened in the NWA MEC office, especially during the last 2-3 years of the NWA MEC."

Lets face it you can paint anyone as an FPL junkie who has had his skin in the game too long, it just depends on who you are trying to smear and for what purpose.
