Quality of Life?
Every Delta pilot knows we have been working a great deal more since the Chapter 11 concessions were extorted from us.
After scope, quality of life is the highest priority in C2015. Working less days to spend with our families after years of sacrifice. What is quality of life? Days off. Trip rig No ask Duty rig No ask Minimum day No ask Vacation Our counterproposal is VERY VERY low. Remember we currently have a max of 113:45/3:15 per day. FedEx is 6 hours per day and a max of 216 hours. The cat is out of the bag and we are going to sell vacation. In other words, WORK MORE. We are going to drop our position on an additional week which would bring us 42 days like United. And worst of all, the tiny increase we asked for :15 minutes additional each year will be pay, no credit. Again, NO ADDITIONAL TIME OFF. So, help me out here. What quality of life gains are left? What quality of life gains are we making? Our domestic trip values are at a record low for my 30 years. 3 day trips worth 15:45. Pathetic. Obviously I believe these rumors are true. I hope they are not. Rather way, a call to your reps will clear the air. They need to hear that quality of life is not for sale. Given the "at least 70% of free cash flow to the shareholders" concessions are off the table. |
Many of our work rules are far SUPERIOR to what we used to have. I know that you know that but don't care to admit it.
How about reserves not getting paid the same value as a regular line holder in the other seat on the same trip? 3 day trips paying only 15.45? How about 3 day trips paying less than 11? How about automatic short call at 0300 on your first on call day? How about the company and not the pilot determining your CQ sims and dates? Etc. All the above was the norm in prior years including before during and after C2K, and guys rarely even griped about it. Yet somehow we fixed those onerous items. You would never know it reading your posts. Do we need significant improvements? Of course. Was TA 15 inadequate? Yep. But your constant posts are becoming a case of diminishing returns. I think our MEC and negotiators are fully aware of what we are expecting. |
I'm with ya! I want a 72hr max month with better pay. All I heard from our last Union reps was, " you can fly 90hr months for more pay" who wants that? Maybe guys with no outside life from flying at delta.

I remember guys (myself included) complaining about them all the time. We did indeed improve many things via the SOT and TOT but I rember guys complaint about them a lot. Scoop |

I sure flew a lot of those trips before the bankruptcy!
I rember we had trip rigs from C96 and C2000. When did we lose those? LOA 46? Scoop |

I don't remember any 3 day 10.5 trips before BK, maybe I was just lucky.

For many like me who have only been here under C2012, former work rules are largely irrelevant in discussion of this next contract. I look at the phenomenal levels of profit and personally want QOL improved significantly with the pilots' share of that money. I care much less about my W2, FWIW.
