So besides the MLOA one that Banzai pointed out, the blurb about LCA Trip Buys and the company discontinuing that practice, what exactly is going on?

Yep, also couldn't believe how many hours of PB days the company was boning new hires out of. Really interested to know the story.

Yep, If that's true the company seems to be shooting themselves in the foot with regard to manning. Can it be negotiating tactic? Hope we don't fall for it.

Check out the widget FB page, there's a lot of chatter there. TBH I didn't follow the line of discussion well enough to accurately portray what really happened. What I took from it was it was a poorly communicated blurb that has zero effect on LCA buyouts of FO trips.

My guess is they are not having LCAs fly FO open time.

The company has always had the ability to buy trips for LCAs, and will continue to have this ability. They have too, especially in the ER category, where not all LCAs can hold international trips year round and they still need to do get TOEs done.

What has probably changed is not asking LCAs who are line holders to bid reserve and then buying them trips.

I think I might be a PB day victim. Gotta call ALPA. Had IOE in October '14. Had trips that overlapped X days. With not enough days left in the month, they rolled those days into November.

Weren't some LCA bidding reserve and then the company was assigning them open time trips with no FO to due IOE trips? Hard to believe any LCA would do this, and stab the FO's in the back if true. Not to mention the contract did not allow this, and was probably why they stopped it.

I was going to ask about these very blurbs: LCA and PB days.

Very confusing.

Incidentally, what are these PB days? Nothing like that was ever mentioned during indoc.
