I agree with Herk to a certain extent.

This management team is ruthless. They are willing to suffer in the short term with hiring difficulties in an attempt to rattle us.

They are using classic psychological warefate tactics on us. They're trying to make us feel that our situation is hopeless, that there is no end in sight. Classic Sun tzu: appear strong when you are weak.

Of course it's all an illusion. They need a contract more than we do, and any more than a short period with the worst contract is unsustainable in the current and future marketplace for pilots.

Eggsactly PD. Their "needs" can only be addressed by a contract that has some gives. They just don't want to pay market price. They are playing head games and hoping to wear down the other 15% + 1 vote they need to put pressure on the MEC. The "TVM" crowd that doesn't give a **** about what work rules, or lack there of they leave behind.

Sad to say this but I think you're dreaming. Management's lack of respect for pilots has been evident for much longer than just the last few weeks and yet I see daily examples of Delta pilots behaving as they always have - busting their butts to keep Delta winning that coveted JDPower award. Releasing brakes for an on time departure, taxiing and flying fast to ensure an on time arrival, running through the terminal and skipping an opportunity for food to make that 40 minute connection work, not wearing the orange lanyards for dozens of lame reasons - the list goes on and on.

I'm not giving up but I have my serious doubts if we can truly band together, act like a union instead of a trade association, and get an industry leading contract.
