Very true haha. I start class in a couple months and was wondering what airframe would be the best to get out west? Maybe the 737?

Definitely not the 717!
Hope you have a high last four on your SSN.

The 737 is in every base, so it is a good bet. It's also been appearing in drops at least a decent amount of the time.

Also, a preemptive welcome aboard to you!

737 is in all western bases, and it's the junior fleet in them too. A220 SLC will go out to new hires at some point this year.

And now that the 220 is up and running will the 220 be the best plane for a new hire to see the best movement?

Over the course of the next 5 years the 320 catergory will see the most movement. They probably won’t start offering it until fall but in 2020 will will accept 43 of them and 2021 38

Growing fleets are always the place to be for movement.

It depends on which base you want. Any of the 737, 220, or 320 should be pretty quick to get your desired base as long is the aircraft is in the base you want. Avoid the 757/767 since a lot of that fleet is shifting to ATL.

All NYC (I know, shocking....)

2 x 737
2 x 717
6 x 220

Good luck to all those starting today!

Of these choices, which are going senior in the class?

Thanks for the update! Any idea on when we will see other bases open up for new-hires?

The beauty of NYC is that its really 3 bases at once. :D
