Default Positive Spacing Not from Base

I’ve read the LOA and PWA and there is some wiggle room IMHO, so before I get myself in trouble doing something stupid...

Are we allowed to book positive space to work from somewhere other than our base? Planning a family trip and will need to get to work directly from our vacation location (western US to ATL).

I believe the key is the training positive space language. You book to your base. No home of record in the language. I would say you're fine to commute from your vacation.

I think I'd use caution with that interpretation. I know I don't want to be the guy who presses to test booking ATL-HNL after a trip when my home of record is CVG and I haven't been to HNL in years.

What if you were coming back from vacation and you still had a few days off before your next trip? Could you still PS then or should standby be used

Would you commute in a “few days” early?

I always commute to my base at the end of my vacation. I live in base and have been using the jumpseat for years "to work" after my vacations.
