The Delta Amex platinum card (not just the Amex platinum card), will get you a day pass for $25, I believe. The Delta Reserve card gets you a free membership, though it's rather pricey, $450. If you are Delta Diamond, you automatically get a free membership, and you can use the club no matter whom you are flying on, for as long as you want. That's a big reason why I always fly Delta (or Delta partners) when I deadhead, and get 20K MQMs on the Delta platinum card. Having access to clubs worldwide is an awesome benefit.

Nope....I just went to the AMEX website aned applied for the Platinum Travel Card.
And I do like the SkyClubs. Comfortable seats, free wi-fi, lots of charging stations, decent light appetizers and soup, complimentary beer, wine and well cocktails. Nice change to the pilot lounges.
And, I have been using them for several years and never once have had a problem presenting a NRSA seat request for entry with my Platinum card.

Yeah definitely go with what the website says vs multiple people with actual first hand experience...good call.

Sitting in the Delta SC as I type this in MSP. My Amex Platinum, and seat request card were sufficient enough for access this time...oh and the 100 times prior to this visit.

To get in the (Amex) Centurion Lounges you definitely need a boarding pass with a confirmed seat. Standby will not work - STRICTLY enforced.
Delta Clubs - depends on agent working the desk.
Really, though, the "help" should not be seen in public. (kidding)

The Citi Prestige Card and Chase Sapphire Reserve card also come with travel credits (both can be used for almost any travel related expense and don't have to be airline specific like the Amex Platinum's credit does.) There are a bunch of other perks and benefits that make them competitive with Amex Platinum, though maybe not if you're a Delta employee.
They obviously don't get you SkyClub or Centurion lounges, but they do come with free Priority Pass memberships for all authorized users on the card.
That said, here's the other reason for my post...

Has anyone ever tried using a Priority Pass club on a free or reduced rate ticket and been told nyet?
