I'm not seeing any mention of CVG. Is it a non-player, and if so is it closing, or just stagnant?

No 88 in DTW. Most newhires will probably see NYC 88, MSP 88, MSP 320, and a few DTW 320 and ATL 88 slots. With the shrinkage in CVG I don't think you'll see anything there for newhires and nothing out West for awhile although the SLC 320 category had some very junior guys on this last bid. I'm sure those guys will get kicked back to MSP when they convert the 767 category on this next bid.

was based in CVG for 18 months. They keep promising to not close the base, however they just displaced all of the ER guys. Many went to DTW or other ER bases but most pushed down kicking folks off the 73 and 88. Most folks based in CVG live there so they don't want to commute. The easiest base most were looking at before I left was DTW, but now that commute will probably be by car since so many folks moved there and Commair has apparently started a lot of flying out of there as well -can't remember if they moved a base there ala JFK or if was a rumor of a base.
I think the writing is on the wall that CVG will go away soon as a base. I think we're down to 20 flights a day on mainline and the 88 guys I know are starting trips with a DH. |

I always thought the SSN number thing was stupid. Why not just put us in order as to how we scored throughout the interview and testing?
Seniority numbers will be assigned to individuals on the first day of their new-hire training in the following order: a. Company transferees will be assigned the lowest seniority numbers within the class, in order of their most recent date of employment with the Company, then b. New-hires will be assigned seniority numbers on the basis of the last four digits of each individual’s social security number. Individuals with the higher numbers will be assigned the lowest seniority numbers. Note: New-hires with identical last four digits of their social security numbers, and transferees with identical employment dates, will determine their relative placement by drawing numbers |
