MSP Shrinking DTW Expanding

I've been asked from a few high sources in the FAA about this but can't find anything on our company website. Has anyone else heard that we'll be reducing operations in MSP and refocusing it thru DTW? The converging operations debacle may have finally reared its ugly head.

Haven't heard that but it wouldn't surprise me.

Prepare for an incoming dissertation from 404xyl on all the reasons why it can't happen.

Possible but not sure how likely. I have listened Dickson and Graham speak a few times in ATL and they continually say MSP is one of our highest yield markets due to business travelers. They did just add the 737 base and there is talk of a 717 base as well. However all that could change tomorrow.

DTW is probably our best airport in regards to runway setup and terminals.

I thought I read that we're adding more international out of MSP?? HNL is back, I know for sure.

Detroit is such an under utilized airport and would be able to handle a lot of expansion from Delta. One thing I have heard is through the jv with aero Mexico is that delta will potentially serve Guadalajara and Leon from dtw soon with increased service to Monterrey using delta planes and not aeromexico. I don't wish anything bad on msp and I'm not sure i believe this but each year that goes on there are more and more people that live in metro Detroit that work for delta and this would be great news if there was expansion, especially if it doesn't involve taking anything from msp

FCO however did poorly.

Yeah - I'm inclined to throw cold water on this one. MSP gets nothing but praise from management, and I would say the 737 and pending 717 base there is telling.. MSP is not going to shrink.

It threw me for a loop because this rumor came from D.C. Not from some average controller at MSP Center. It's contrary to everything previously published, that's why I thought I'd ask here.

The union powerhouses there have marginalized themselves out of influence... The time is nigh!
