Default ALPA - the Efficiency Machine

Hats off to the C44 Chair and ALPA National.

With lightning speed, the C44 Chair was able to accept a request for recall of the two FO reps to be placed on the next meeting agenda. Lickity split - not only was mission accomplished within mere minutes, but the agenda was quickly closed as well (to prevent other such efforts for the local chairman himself).

Then, the C44 chair was able to conclude the meeting less than 48 hours ago, ship all the proxies to Herndon, get them certified and launch the council wide voting window in record time! The window is open before they've even established the links. How cool is that?

These guys are working hard on your behalf with amazing efficiency.

Cynics will probably think they are simply trying to run roughshod over the process and the FOs to pull a fast one on the council.

Move along. Nothing to see here.

Default Pathetic

After reading the emails regarding the recall of the 2 F/O reps I have come to the conclusion that the present Delta Airlines Pilot union ALPA is embarrassing, immature, expensive and incompetent....just saying.

I've never seen ALPA reps use their ALPA email service to launch such a nasty attack on the pilots that attended their local council meeting. These two seem unhinged. Rather than respectfully disagree with the will of their constituents in attendance at the meeting, they launched into an attack on them. Pathetic.

Having talked with lots of us newish hires, noone is really impressed with the politics of ALPA and haven't been since our new hire dinner. Even worse are the guys who are still fighting the north vs south battle. Still have respect for the guys working silently behind the scenes to help out line pilots.

Did not the FO reps involved waive the normal process and ask that things be expedited?

I've just never seen reps attack the pilots they are suppose to represent in such a manner because they didn't get their way. This is thuggish behavior. This might be considered coercion, against pilots executing their rights under LMRDA. Show up to a meeting with a resolution I don't like and I'll blast your character and reputation using ALPA's email service. Pathetic.

They asked that they not go through the paper proxy goat rope. Traditionally, there's been much more time between an LEC meeting and the electronic vote.

They have the right to counter all the BS, no? The council is being snookered by the old guard and ALPA national is all too happy to help.

But it's ok to show up with false accusations in your resolution that are the reasons for recall on the record?
