Unfortunately I've been stuck with a 5AM report in EWR next month for a trip, and my crash pad is in Kew Gardens. Looking for suggestions for a nice crew hotel in the EWR vicinity.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

At JB the Marriott right on the field used to give us 99 out the door through API; nicest hotel in that area by far. Worth a call.

The Wyndham near the airport was 86 out the door a couple of months ago. Best deal I found.

If you have Hilton Honors points the EWR DoubleTree has been offering rooms for $40 + 8,000 pts.

Contact the crews (company email) who are doing trips on that day. You be surprised how many actually go home (live in base) and don't use their hotels , leaving an empty room for somebody.
