Looking forward to the interview experience. 7K TT 6K PIC, 4K PIC Turbine 3900+ 91K, 135 PIC. Not bragging, just been around for 56 years.

Any recommendations? I'm a older fart so I would stay until I retire. You young folks have 1 less to worry about going elsewhere.

I'm thinking CR9 in LGA. If / when I get a choice.

I was informed that the next new hire class on the 21st of July was full with a list of standby. So much for that one. IDK how many are o shows. Next NH class is the 9th of Sept. Kind of long wait. Oh well.

I have 3 interviews lined up after the 10th. They are all interested yet who knows what will / can happen.

When they open ATL to the CR9 how will that work? I know they will say they need x CA's and X FO's. My question is what kind of ripple effect will that have on the other bases?

If I'm in LGA and they open ATL to the CR9 and people leave LGA for ATL does my relative seniority, move up?

How does opening a new base like when they opened ATL to the CR2 affect those left in their original base?

My guess is LGA, JFK are relatively JR CR9 bases? How long would one be on Reserve? I have heard some get a line after a moth or two. I'm just feeling out the water.

Next question is how likely is it that DAL will make the "bonuses" covert to additional hourly rate after Dec 2018?

With your age you should be senior in your class and be able to get lga900. If people left LGA to go to atl then yes your seniority would move up if others more senior to you didn't come and take that person leaving spot (secondary vacancy). As far as how a base opening would affect you. As long as you wanna be in your base you can stay (barring a displacement or base closure). And lastly no official word on pay yet but they have to do something or risk losing a ton of people.

teddy3412:

Thank you for the quick reply.

Do you know if Endeaver wants a 2 year commitment if you take the hiring bonus money? I want a company I can retire from yet one never knows in this crazy industry.

BTW if I am offered a quick upgrade how likely would it be that I sit reserve??? I'd rather fly and make the $$$ or at least bid the hours and fly fewer... ;)

Ideas?

No commitment for money except if you need to go to CTP course then it's a one year prorated 2000 dollar contract.

If you take quick upgrade you'll be on reserve a while as everyone senior to you that gets their time and upgrades will jump ahead of you. That said, our reserves tend to fly a lot so you won't be sitting bored especially in the summer.

Our Captain reserves fly a lot, the FO reserves. Not so much.

Wiggy15 - I hold an ATP MEL with 3 Corporate Jet Types.

Can Reserve pilots ask to fly - like fifo? Just asking.

Then again if ATL goes CR9 in 2-3 months that changes the game once again correct???

web500sjc Thanks for the intel.

In your case, no contracts then. You can ask to be called first in your preferences. All ATL900 does is add a new base for the 900 category most likely opening a few DTW slots and allowing anyone in NYC that wants out to get to ATL. Otherwise, business as usual just with more aircraft. Any 900ATL will be pure growth as there have been no plans to reduce 900 NYC flying, in fact the opposite, they are bleeding a small percentage of DTW and MSP900 to grow NYC further.

Today being the exception. Canceling flights @DTW for no FO.

IDK NYC flights were so popular.

ATL would be a much shorter commute for me living in FLL than LGA. I suppose it would depend where I might be able to hold a line quicker.

teddy3412 08-03-2017 02:48 PM

I got a line in 2 1/2 months, I'm at 2/21 class date. First full month of reserve I did like 60 something credit and my 2nd full month I did 91 credit. I'm LGA 900 fo. I have the time to upgrade but don't plan on it anytime soon as I despise reserve and I'm not in any rush.
