In the past few days I've been both heartbroken by this news and encouraged to see the response. My wife is currently pregnant with our first and my immediate thought was hoping that Capt Ryan's wife will be taken care of the way I hope my wife would be.

Money can't replace a life or a family member, but it has been touching to see the tremendous support from fellow employees on the gofundme. From an employee perspective, seeing names like like Bill Lentsch and TW quietly show up at/near the top of the contributors list is also moving.

Thoughts and prayers to the Ryan family. As a small glimmer of sunshine, with some luck and decent interest rates hopefully Baby Ryan won't need to stress over paying for college when the time comes.
