Default Question about 2nd positive space commuting

I heard that the company is using way more positive space than they anticipated for this program. What exactly is the etiquette for using it? I live in DFW, which is a Spirit and AA base.

Is it better to try to non-rev on Delta or jumpseat on one of the other options? From what I understand, as long as I do one of the other, I am entitled to the positive space on the next flight if I can't get on.

Please use it exactly as the contract requires, unless you are worried about delays due to Wx that could impact your pay and cause a call in honest event. Company does the bare minimum they are required to do by the contract (for example, only 15% of the reserve lines are long call even though contract says “at least 15%”), why should we do differently? Codomicile was a huge concession and this was one of the things given to us for it. It’s no surprise the company is seeing that we use more positive spaces than delta per pilot... we have more commuters (no one wants to live in nyc) and our priority for nonreving is Lower/we can’t book the jumpseat.

Regarding your question... they can’t positive space you on a AA or Spirit flight. Make one of those your first attempt and then have them ps you on DL.

It's in the contract. You can use it. They can b1tch and moan all they want. Ofc they're gonna use more than they anticipated. When DL oversells flights by 20 basic economy fares, what do they expect. smh

All you have to do is give yourself two flights that are scheduled to get you to work on time. If you want positive space the second one has to be Delta branded. So your first option can be The School Bus or AA, if you don't make that one, you are entitled to positive space on your DL/DC backup.

Exactly, if Delta was more like Jet Blue, or any other airline for that matter, commuting might be more doable. But Delta is pushing for the most profitable summer in history. That’s probably where the rub is coming from.
