Hat or no hat
Do you wear the hat or no? If you do why?

Yes, sometimes. I just like hats. It’s not a political statement, it’s a hat. |
I don't, because it's a pain to pack as a commuter.
|
Not required by our uniform regs.
|
Nope I’ve never been a hat person. I’d probably lose it every other trip and be on the Facebook page trying to find it. Thankfully it’s optional for us. If I end up somewhere where it’s required I’ll wear it all day.
|
I wear it because I'm outstanding.
Some other people don't wear it, and they're outstanding, too. Basically, wear it if you'd like. Don't let anyone else make the decision for you. |
I'd bet most of you would trip over yourselves to wear it if it was a baseball cap (bonus points for wearing it backwards)!

Our hat badge looks like ass.

Actually
If you are, or intend to go into training, from the Grand Puba himself, you MUST wear your hat or quit! Good thing we have a contract, EXCEPT, for DGI of course.
|
Haters gonna hate, hatters gonna hat
|
Badge looks terrible. The badge should just be the endeavor swoosh and that’s it. It looks like a giant billboard.
Redesign the badge to not look stupid and the people will come. |

I don't...I would lose it for sure. Personally I do think it looks more professional, but only if it's the right size and you know how to wear it.
If you wear a hat because you like the way it looks, or for some other personal reason, cool corn man, go for it. If you wear a hat because you think some delta pilot is going to see you in the terminal and think "hey that guy should work for Delta, I'm gonna give him a recommendation"....well...good luck with that I literally had a conversation with an FO who told me he wears the hat because "he wants to get hired at delta". When I asked him how it would get him hired at delta, he had no answer. Just brainwashed. Side note...is LA to Vegas coming back or did that get canxed? |
I recently just quit, but yes, I always wore my hat.
Why? Because I liked it. Truly. |
I wear it with the blazer

I wear it, mostly to use as a junk drawer when I get to the hotel. Lay it upside down, throw small stuff into it so you don't forget it.

It's European!
|
I don’t wear it because the emblem looks like it was designed by a complete moron.

Wearing it is indirectly or directly siding with the company. Not wearing it is indirectly or directly siding with the union. And pilot unity creates a strong union, which can be applied at negotiations. If half are already wearing it for free, it carries little weight. |

I don’t wear it simply because I don’t like to wear hats. No other reason. I have no issue with pilots who do wear it. But I do see some guys wearing it poorly. There is a proper way to wear a uniform hat, and we don’t have people in the company explaining this to new hires. I’ve unfortunately seen more than a few of our FOs wearing a hat that’s too big and their ears stick out. Looks bad. I’ve been debating on whether to say something, but I don’t want to kill their vibe or come across as a D Bag Captain. If you wear it, just wear it well and own it ladies and gents. It seems to me that the passengers respond well to hat wearing pilots, so do it if you like. Just do it correctly please. My simple observations.

Hats
I don’t wear it because it’s not required & I still have a full head of hair! Wore one w/ previous life’s. Not going to wear unless it’s required besides I know I would always loose it. And no chicks don’t dig them
|
This just in...the company is doing nothing about the logo.
The original design from third grader little MC No Name is staying despite obvious complaints. Apparently the more metal they use from their vendor the cheaper the price, hence the 1.5lb ornament on your head. |
Yes, not only does it look hideous, my hat emblem is also out of spec, and sits off center on the hat. Just terrible quality control, I would be embarrassed to wear it.

I don’t because it makes my head/hair look like a mushroom stamp.
|
I wear the hat because it is a part of the complete uniform. For me, it is also an expression of self dignity when in public view. (oops, i'm not an EDV pilot, but whatever.)

Is the hat hole off center or the center pin of the medallion off center? If it's the medallion you should be able to request a new one from the company. (Though I might wait a month or two so they don't identify you as Mesabah) If it's the hat itself I guess you're out of luck, maybe crew outfitters will help you out.
Regardless wearing the hat is a choice, if you choose not to, no worries. |
