Default CVG as a junior FO

Good morning, I am looking for some advice regarding junior bases. On the endeavor website CVG looks like a pretty junior base (to be fair they all look junior except ATL). I am currently about 2 hours from JFK but long term want to be somewhere else. I am a CFI and I did a flight with a guy who is building his 25 hours in a multi as he is going there. According to him when he went for his interview a few weeks ago everybody who interviewed there was told to expect JFK. He said that Delta is pulling out the larger airplanes from JFK so endeavor is expanding there. Can anybody confirm if this is true? And if it is true could anybody advise how long it would take me to get CVG if had to go to JFK out of the gate? Thanks!

You can get CVG out of training. Just curious, are you looking to move to CVG for personal reasons other than your job? I can't recommend anyone come here especially if there are other options in NYC. Republic is right on the edge of getting pay raises and QOL here is among the worst.

In all seriousness, why are you considering coming to a shrinking airline with some of the worst pay in the industry with absolutely no plan for anything to get better?

Well my main reason is to not be in New York…

Are you referring to endeavor or CVG when you say that QOL is terrible and can’t recommend anybody come here?

I am also considering RPA and EWR

Are you referring to CVG or EDV when you say you can’t recommend anybody come here? What about when you reference QOL?

I mainly don’t want to be in New York. As for why CVG it seems like the area I’d prefer most out of the bases. I am considering RPA too.

Referring to Endeavor. There is 0 reason to come here right now. Let me say that again 0. Flow to Delta? 100% not worth it. You can go anywhere else, and get to Delta faster OTS. Industry leading pay… if by leading you mean paying the least income taxes, because we certainly have that going for us now. You say you don’t want to be in NYC, so there goes that wonderful benefit of ours (being essentially 75% of our flying is in NYC). You could come here for the ice cream, but the selection is pretty much that of an ice cream truck on a 100 degree day just after passing by a sugar addicts convention. Maybe you like being abused on airport ready reserve, because there’s always that I guess.

so yeah. Go literally ANYWHERE else. Until DL decides they want to make some changes, this place shouldn’t even be a thought in your mind.

When in a town hall they admitted there are faster ways to Delta than flow it should have woke more people up than it did

NYC is Endeavor's primary market. If you don't want NYC, don't come here. Go to RPA, make a lot more money, avoid NYC, and get to Delta faster if that's where you want to go. The only reason anyone should consider coming here is they really want to fly a CRJ in NYC for subpar pay and delay their Delta career by years. Oh yeah, come here if you really love ready reserve.

Our management has been very candid about shrinking the airline and not improving our pay or contract. If you don't see the reality of that, nobody can help you. Caveat emptor.

I'll say it one final simple way since it seems you aren't absorbing the advice of anybody here: go to RPA and make money as an FO there than captains do here.

I'm strictly referring to Endeavor as a whole. Why would you come here to avoid NYC when that's our primary market? Cincy is not gonna save you, you'll just be deadheaded anyways, or the second your trip passes within 100 miles of LGA they're gonna put you through 8 revisions an hour to keep you in the NYC network for the rest of your trip.

And remember folks, DTW = Deadhead To Work

Salty guy out.
