Delta could simply do that... in 2029. The bridge agreement prevents Delta from taking most of the planes from 9E.

No it doesn't. It prevents them from being operated by another Delta Connection carrier. It does nothing to protect the jets from being parked entirely or moved to mainline.

There’s also clauses in that agreement that allow delta out of the agreement such as a sale.

As we know with flow, if DL needs wiggle room, they’ll find it. It worked for EDV once, whose to say it doesn’t go against them when needed?

Why would DALPA even entertain those negotiations? They can simply say "we have rates for the aforementioned airplanes, put them on our certificate". There will be no staple, no integration, nothing. The planes will go to Delta (if they choose to go that route). The people will not. Some of you all need to think outside of just the pilot group.
As it stands there is nothing that contractually or legally prevents Delta (the company) from merging DAL (the airline) and EDV (the airline) under the terms of the Delta PWA (just like DAL and NWA merged); I believe section 1.D.8 is relevant. Sure there would be a ton of messy things like dealing with all the unionized and non unionized work groups, but Delta can decide to make it one system in the stroke of a pen IF they decide that it is in the corporation’s best interest. I would concede that the above is extremely unlikely to occur, but if that possibility is coming to fruition, do you think Delta pilots would want a PWA merger with EDV, or would rather have some pre-negotiated agreement? In the mean time, while we all ponder this fantasy- we can watch the results of forced upgrades. |

I don’t work for EDV, but the conversation interests me, especially with how putting on The Hat has changed the opinions of regular posters here.

I’ll throw some gas on that fire. Air Wis pilots are the lowest paid regional pilots right now. Neither management nor the union seem too concerned about that. Maybe they have bigger things on their plate. Why bother negotiating new pay rates when you’re just going to have to start over again when you acquire another airline?
