Our union leadership believes regionals will need a "clear path to a major" in the future. All they'll have to do is offer the SSP to newhires. So long as this perceived shortcut to a major is offered they'll have no issues hiring or keeping the payrates at rock bottom.

Did you work at PCL?

I worked at Pinnacolaba. I left well before you all voted that ridiculous contract in. I make more at my current carrier on 2nd year pay compared to FO top out at Endeavor Air now.
Air Wis
SkyWest
ExpressJet
Compass
Horizon

Are all hiring. Why would a newbie choose Endeavor Air when these other carriers pay higher and are more stable? Isn't there a ticking clock on 200's being parked?

Present: 181 airframes
Jan 1, 2014: 165 airframes
June 1, 2014: 154 airframes

He worked for Colgan making $16 an hour flying the Q400.

Your union also sold you out in SLI negotiations and fell for Delta's bluff. I wouldn't exactly believe the Kool Aid they are spilling to you about SSPs to newhires.

Don't bother, Slats. Your words will fall on deaf ears and in the end you will be made out to be the bad guy.

Delta pilots weren't looking at the potential of being jobless. Apples to Oranges. We made our decisions based on what was best for our pilot group. I won't ever apologize for voting yes.

I'm pretty sure that Skywest has a hefty number of 50 seaters also, no?

Al Czervik 06-15-2013 05:05 PM

Slats.. What's your heartburn? If you're happy with your decision what do you care about PCL pilots? Just don't understand guys that leave for their own reasons yet can't move on. What gives?

Our good old buddy slats used to go by her previous screen name, "Luv2Rotate". All she did was bash every regional. You will be surprised what she said about Colgan a month before she joined them. She was practically raped by Colgan boys, that she decided to come with a new screen name and still continues to avenge her humiliation.

With large aircraft orders from Embraer and Mitsubishi... and diversified flying across five airline contracts.

... and no one allowing the scope to fly those airplanes.....

Jamers 06-15-2013 10:38 PM

Scope. Let me tell you about scope. Yes. Scope.

ShyGuy 06-15-2013 10:53 PM

No way slats is a girl

ShyGuy 06-15-2013 10:58 PM

And scope will be sold down river as it usually is. Some good carrot dangling is all it will take. Pilots are very predictable creatures.

The most conservative management group out there spends +8 billion on new jets and without consulting their partners, all in the hope that scope will permit them to be used someday. Yeah, thats the more believable thesis. What a big mistake they made, maybe you should have been there to warn them, they obviously didn't know about this and made a risky spontaneous decision.... ..or, maybe, we are like a bunch of mushrooms; left in the dark and fed full of bull crap.

Or a dying regional model and now scrambling for viability in 10 years.

AS TA sounds pretty loose on scope, so maybe that's where it is for... no other carrier is anywhere close, though.

Well now I guess they have really lost their mind, because they just put in for another 200 E175s! 300-600 Ejet/MRJs.... If they could somehow just listen to us pilots on these boards.. I mean, don't they know that they wont be able to find a home for these birds? Financial suicide! Who here really thinks thats going to happen? (not just hopes)

Yeah...Just because Skywest owns the airplanes doesn't mean Skywest pilots will be flying them.

Ftrooppilot 06-17-2013 04:08 PM

SkyWest operates 28 CRJ9s for Delta.

I think they have the track record to not be able to sit there and claim financial suicide.

If those Comair pilots got hired at mainline, all those orders and no mainline caved on scope, oops. Maybe they'll still get the MRJ's, and lease them to United.
