So... why downgrade them in the first place? Couldnt they just have the CAs fly FO position?

I assume for bidding purposes? Doesn't seem that bad get CA pay and bid better schedules? Best of a bad situation I guess

What about the other FOs making low wages, the union should have pushed harder for better FO wages. I think the company is worried that the downgraded CA will leave because they are the ones going back and forth. But now the other fos may think its unfair and get tired of the select people who get the CA pay

So they just became super senior FO with CA pay?

Windsor 05-09-2014 04:25 PM

That ain't right. While it sucks to be downgraded, they should go to f.o pay. I feel for them, I've been in their place, but I wasnt afforded the luxury of staying on CA pay, my pay went to $24 an hour or whatever it was back then. A downgrade is a downgrade, whats the point of doing it if the pay doesnt go with it?

Mesabah 05-09-2014 04:35 PM

HA, the downgraded captains are the ones suing right? Amazing!

Endeavor 14-04 Out

I think all the FO's are positioned to file a Class Action lawsuit! This has discrimination written ALL OVER IT!!! Why should someone get paid way more for doing the same job I am doing!!! ALPA SUCKS!!!!

Terantious 05-09-2014 05:10 PM

That`s what you get for voting in concessions!! Quit your *****ing, you are getting what you deserve for voting in such a ****ty contract. Such a spineless pilot group!!!

Actually my life is quite awesome. Leaving pinchanickle had a lot to do with it. I feel for the guys still stuck there against their will.

Avroman 05-09-2014 06:00 PM

Read the fine print... If you aren't willing to go to New York as a captain you probably aren't getting the pay protection... The company wants/needs everyone to go to JFK/LGA.... clearly especially on the FO side (shocking at no more than 30K a year I know) is interested at this point. Almost nobody will be protected because either they "voluntarily pass up" the chance to be a captain in NY or they are now a captain in NY.
A toothless offer that should be met with bare asses and resignations.

gvinflight 05-09-2014 06:03 PM

Denmark?

ALPA National and our MEC endorsed the contract. Do you trust your union or not? If not, I hope you aren't a member. :)

HIREME 05-09-2014 08:09 PM

I want to hear more about Denmark...can we get a bump in Intl per diem?

You're gonna need it. Copenhagen is a ruinously expensive city to spend time in. Beer, food...just incredibly expensive...(from personal experience.)

Nice vote guys. You were the tip of the spear in this abortion. Psa close second

SMACFUM 05-09-2014 10:05 PM

Sorry, but for myself, as an outsider looking in, could somebody please explain the connection between the last 9E contract and the current downgrade announcement?

9easy 05-10-2014 12:52 AM

Now we have a new gilded class to take the spotlight off the Colgan guys. There will be a group of "FO's" making captain pay and getting a fantastic schedule without having to fly in NYC. Sounds great.

Isn't the "new Captain pay rate" the same as the old First Officer rate or there abouts?

Please lead with this statement when asking to ride an Endeavor jumpseat. Since you sound so tough you would have no problem saying it to us face to face. Should be fun.

FWIW, I agree with him. You should have voted that "agreement" down.

Anyone who could read an 8-k knew the crisis was about as feal as the stage show at Chuck E Cheeze's, but you managed to put half the profession into concessionary bargaining in addition to screwing yourselves pretty royally.

ALPA allows MEC to bargain autonomously. It is right there in the Constitution & Bylaws. IMHO you screwed other ALPA members with your SSP.

Moak should not have signed it, but you'd have sued him if he didn't.

So should I say that All you Delta pilots are responsible for running Future pilot's careers? You have voted in concessions and loosened scope. There are no pensions because of major pilot's could not hold in it bankruptcy. Oh wait thats right when in bankruptcy pilots get shafted and thats what happened to us. If we did not take this POS contract they were going to shove down an even worse one. The Judge already said change a few things and he will pass it.

HAHAHAHA, is this a joke? If i were to ever risk my life jumpseating on Endeavor i would for sure tell the crew what i felt and if they kicked me off...so be it.

I have voiced my opinion to an Endeavor pilot in the terminal, did he like it, no. Did i care, no. You do not deserve respect and you will get none from me no matter what venue it may be. Online, terminal or the jumpseat.

Oh and I do not jumpseat on companies who skip deicing an airplane that is covered in contaminants just so they can make their commute home. If these two clowns represent even half of what Endeavor has to offer then your entire group is pretty sad.

Go back to undermining the rest of the industry since that is all your pilot group is worth.
