Delta didn't and couldn't do it with them being a all "larger RJ" operator. Why will they try it all over again with 9E? All that's left are the super expensive lifers and pay-scale-maxed-out FOs. Get out while you can.

What they were able to do to 9E was get a 12 year cap on captain pay, and a 4 year cap on fo's. They tried that with Comair, and they said no. That's why I don't think 9e will be the next Comair

You have a valid point. Delta is also in a different place than they were with Comair back in the day so things may work out this time.

I don't think 9E will fold, but the next few months of attrition should be QUITE interesting.

I just wonder if Delta lets Endeavor continue to be a very public failure, why would any regional negotiate with Delta? You might as well take full pay to the last day, because Delta's plan will tank you anyways.

I'm honestly not saying this to be antagonistic towards any pilot, but simply looking at upper management's handling of Endeavor, the actions taken have been really bad in a grand total. The improvements in the operation and changing out of certain individuals would have been really great if there was career progression and a future, but that remains the big "if" and every job hunting pilot knows it.

How does one honestly expect to recruit pilots in this environment with pay cuts and caps, a shrinking fleet, a guaranteed interview with about a 50% success rate*, and no real signs of caring about those objective facts?

*I keep hearing that PSA's guaranteed interview with mainline, though a small number a month, has a very high success rate, something like 75% or better. And now Piedmont has a straight flow.

That's why I said smoke and mirrors. If they really cared to improve things at 9E and weren't lying through their flippin teeth all the time, it wouldn't take much to put your money where your mouth is to slow attrition and encourage pilot hiring

The whole point of making 9E a wholly opened and keeping them around was to ensure they still had the feed. Delta would not have been able to cover the flying should 9E just have folded. In the interim, Delta is paying very low rates and overseeing a orderly wind down of the flying while pressuring other DCI carriers to take on the flying at low enough rates. They're obviously in no hurry, but this won't drag on forever. Just look at who they put in charge, Ryan Gumm. Captain Spooldown, was there to see the shut down of Comair and Freedom.

Not that this is a surprise but we just received a company memo from the CEO and he states that all the 200's will be parked as attrition continues. Looks like they have thrown in the towel on hiring pilots. Look elsewhere if your considering the regionals.

Just curious where that memo was located on the endeavorair website?

Endeavor 2015

I thinks it's ironic that this announcement comes on the same day that Delta announced 5% bonus check to all of their employees on Oct 3rd.
