I don't know what if any base needs to close to staff Miami. I merely asked the question, since ORD was shrunk in half to staff NY re-opening. Can't wait for another 5 months of involuntary TDYs.

Actually, you would have had a lot more credibility had you come on here three Saturdays ago and said something like, "Sorry for getting everyone's hopes up. I really thought there was going to be a big announcement yesterday, but looks like it will be sometime in the near future."

But instead, you go silent, waiting in the dark for the BIG ANNOUNCEMENT, so you could jump out of the bushes, pointing fingers and screaming "I TOLD YOU SO!"

A bit of humility would serve you well. Be careful dropping bombs and throwing hand granades at others for citing their disdain for you letting down their expectations.

Awesome news Skyvector! Thanks for the post! I support the way u went about it going silent and letting them throw insults. There were a lot of haters. Good timing overall.

Fortunately for our DFW 145 guys, it won't be the massacre that you ORD guys had thrown at you. 145s from DFW will be going to MIA, but they are being replaced by 140s that are currently parked in the desert.

But carry on. Miami is coming back, that's 4 crew bases for us now. Upgrades are at 2 years, we are flowing 25-30 pilots per month to AA, hiring on average 70+ per month. Things are going well for us. I'm not going to bother convincing you and a couple of others of the obvious. But I won't have my integrity questioned.

Put me down as another one in the Skyvector camp. He played it well. Took all the insults and didn't react. Patiently waiting..meanwhile the bloodsuckers just kept buzzing. Now they want to keep attacking him for...what? Not arguing back during that time?

You're fun. :) I'm honored to be apparently labeled a "bastard hater," whatever that means. I am, however, embarrassed on behalf of all your co-workers, as you are an extremely poor representation of the pilot group; most of the group are not Grade-A jerks. If you are indeed a recruiter or management, that is a huge embarrassment to the whole group.

Moving on, it's good​ to know the MIA commuters have a hope of being based at home again. Of course, it's too bad the guys who got displaced to the CRJ when MIA closed will have to continue commuting. But overall, I think the MIA re-opening is a positive development, and I'm glad it is happening.

It's pretty low to respond to legitimate concerns with irrational personal attacks. I enjoy discussion and debate; apparently you can't tolerate someone with a different perspective and opinion. I guess you are a reflection of the broader breakdown of debate in society. Maybe you need to find your safe space.

Remind me again how long the folks that live in Miami have been forced to commute by a ridiculous corporate decision? Then, remind me how many MIA and NYC pilots we lost from Envoy because they didn't want to commute?

I'm really glad that the company is fixing their mistake. But those that don't remember their history, or understood why it happened in the first place, are doomed to repeat it. It's pretty douche to come on here and use some positive news to put down your fellow pilots. We were the ones that had to bear the weight of Parker's wrath, so you'll have to excuse us if we don't turn into rah-rah company cheerleaders. Your ego must really be fragile if you need to come on here and go "see I told you so, poopy-heads!" like a little kid. It's sad really. This thread should be about the pilots that will be able to see their families a little bit more now.

Hi. I don't consider that "trash talk." I was confused why 2.5 weeks ago you predicted a "BIG ANNOUNCEMENT FRIDAY THIS WEEK, A BIGGIE!!!" When the announcement never came, and you disappeared from the forums, it's plain to see how many folks assumed you were just leading them on. Now it appears probable that you did have some inside knowledge; you just jumped the gun on sharing it by a couple weeks before it was supposed to be announced.

I prefer to have debates based on logic, ideas, facts, and observations. Your refusal to engage in rational debate indicates that you prefer irrational personal attacks.

However, don't forget about the MIA captains who got displaced to the CRJ when MIA closed. Also, many MIA FOs have since upgraded on the CRJ and E175. Those folks will be stuck commuting.

For the folks it does help, I'm glad that MIA is re-opening.

So now that everyone has finished trash talking like big boy does anyone know when it will happen?

What about the 175 and CRJ Captains that don't have that option? Oh right...this company doesn't give a damn about captains, only their precious new-hires :rolleyes:
